Hi Michael
The RWS R100 has been the main ammo used for a number of years at Fly events. Way back in the old days the Federal 900 was used with great success before it was discontinued, shooters tried to find a bullet with similar ballistics to the Federal ammo and much experimenting\testing was completed over the years. The R100 is a little faster then the RWS R50 and is used by Silhouette shooters with great success so was adopted by the Fly shooters as the goto ammo.
Having said all that, if your rifle does not like R100 then its not going to serve you as well as you best target ammo, that is if your rifle loves Eley or Lapua at 50 or 100 yards then chances are it will serve you well at the longer distance. An example is my wife Kathy's rifle loves RWS R50 at 50 metres and is always at the top end of our local club matches so I got her to try it at the Fly shoots here in Sydney and has won or been 2nd a number of times last year.
So as Anthony has said above, go with what works.
Anthony, we will hopefully pop into the range to catch the CF presentation on Sat afternoon so will be able to catchup and find out more about the diner etc.
Hope that helps.
Dave
