Batemans Bay 500M Results

Hi,

It was a great weekend of Fly Shooting here in Batemans Bay, all went very well and while the conditions were reasonably difficult with lots of mirage on Saturday and strong wind that started part way through the 300m event on Sunday, it remained warm and sunny the whole time.  Dinner out on Saturday night really added to the weekend.
I will post the 300m results later today or tonight.

2nd Place Michael Bell - 221.02
3rd Place Anthony Hall - 210.01

Best Target - Rod Davies 56.01

Heavy Gun

Thanks to PVM for scoring the whole weekend again, and a big thank you to all that came and made it such a great weekend.
Cheers
Anthony

Thanks to the organisers and competitors, I had a great time, cant wait for the next one. It was good to catch up with some people and put names to faces of people I have chatted with. I certainly hope to be there for the next one.
BTW, will the next one be the same 2 day 500M and 300M format?

My thanks also to Anthony & the crew....always runs like clockwork at Batemans. Also big thanks to PVM for the thankless task of scoring. Well worth a look at the article on the subject now available on this site.

Congratulations to both Les Fraser & Rod Davies for their wins on a day that was difficult to put it mildly. It's been a while since I've shot in mirage like that. We usually get a bit from time to time but this held up all day...I reckon I saw 1 bullet hole in 5 targets which meant we were totally reliant on our sighters and shooting blind for the entire event.  As Les said...you just have to have the "gonads" to trust your sighters and go for it...certainly worked for him!
Must also compliment the volunteers running the kiosk......could well be the best hamburger I've ever had...so naturally I had a couple.

Hope to see  you all at Little River in a few weeks.
