I currently shoot F Class Open and a few of us are interested in FLY shooting. We live in the Illawarra and were wondering how often do you guys shoot fly & where ? and what do we have to do to attend? e.g. membership.
Peter, Fly shooting is very popular at SSAA Deep Creek Range Batemans Bay, just south from your location. Contact Anthony Hall. By the way, it is worth being a SSAA "gold member" if only for the $25K insurance on your rifles.
Welcome to the forum. As mentioned, there are plenty of great fly shoots around, the next major match is Wagga at the end of August, followed by Canberra in September.... check out the Calendar section on this web site.
Down here at Batemans Bay, you will be made most welcome anytime you want to come down. We have a club "Fox shoot" each month that includes 500m, 300m, 200m centrefire as well as 100 Metres with a rimfire. We also have the splash plates and frames setup all the time at 500m....we can give you Fly Targets and you can practice any time we are open. Our two major matches are February and June each year..... But there are plenty of opportunities for club shoots and practice.
Email me at Anthony@clydeauto.com.au if you want more info about Batemans Bay any time.
I look forward to seeing you at the range or a fly shoot sometime.
