If you're like me you will regularly frustrate yourself by winding the scope in the wrong direction. It doesn't seem to matter how many uppercuts I give myself I just keep doing it....
Having shot a disastrous target at the Nationals last weekend after doing just this, Barry Tucker lamented..."Belly, in shooting, there are those who HAVE wound the wrong way and there are those that WILL wind the wrong way.
Sorry Barry but this didn't improve my mood!
Paul Deehan, shooting from the bench next to me, chimed in with..."Belly, how do you go screwing a nut onto a bolt?" I was pretty sure he was taking the piss so I replied but can't remember how! No, No!, says Paul, I'm serious...If you wind a nut onto a bolt held vertically you wind it down in the usual way and the nut goes down, if you want the nut to go up, just wind it up! The reticle adjusters on scopes wind in the same direction as a normal nut will onto a bolt. Same if you wish to go left or right....wind the nut in to go left.....wind the nut out to go right!!
Goddam!!! this is GOBSMACKINGLY simple....How the HELL couldn't I have worked this out beforehand.....Paul, your a legend!
Many thanks
Belly
ps Be interested in hearing some responses to Les's last post about die set up...I reckon it's pretty important & it's likely there are a variety of methods used.
