WA Fly Shooter

Shaun Stoffels
G'day all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. My names Shaun, im from Perth, WA. Ive shot the fly on and off for the last 2 odd years with my 308 and am now using my 6x47L(soon to be 6x47L Imp) for the 500m Fly. Im also a avid F-Open shooter aswell.

As far as Im aware, WA doesnt have any registered 500m Fly Matches, just club shoots which I attend at Perth Field Rifle Club and soon to be at Perth Rifle Metallic Sillhoute Club aswell. So Depending on Finances and availablility, I may try to attend the Nationals this year but that may not happen as I also am going to try to attend the National Queens in Brisbane. Depends what the missus says but shes partial to the Fly shoot so it may work.

Hope theres some other WA folk here and hope to one day meet some of you guys at the range.

Welcome Shaun nice of you to come on board. I don't know of any fly shoots in WA that doesnt mean that there isn't any but we have only just seen some interest from SA for SOTY matches (shooter Of The Year) The Nationals are in Canberra in March the date will be in the calender section of this site. We are constantly looking for new information and possibily more locations to hold these matches. Like any shooting sport you have to keep growing or the sport will die, We lost a great range in Wagga this year and hope those guys can get is back on but nothing is certain these days.

Anyway welcome and chat soon...

Les,

Cheers for the welcome mate. If its in march, I probably wont be able to make it due to being so close to the 2014 F-Class National Teams Champs in Tassie. I'm already gone for 12 days for that.

I've been thinking about talking to the other keen fly shooters here and seeing if there is any interest in holding a WA State Fly Titles. I don't think there is one yet so that could be the go.
