Hi Lindsay,

Techincally it is a requirement to have "target " endorsed on your licence to enter a competition.

As Pete said.... if you were using the competitive environment to practice and learn for your vermin shooting... who is going to argue ?... or for that matter check ?

The simple way - this is what the firearms registry web site says;

What if I want to change my genuine reason or add a new genuine reason?
You will need to apply to have a genuine reason added or removed from your licence. You should call the firearms registry on 1300 362 562 or alternatively email the Firearms Registry Licensing Unit at frlicensing@police.gov.au to obtain application forms.

It will incur a cost of $75 to have a genuine reason added or removed from your licence, as this requires a new licence to be produced.

NOTE: Your updated licence will retain the same expiry date as your current licence.

Pain in the bum as you will have to go and have the photo taken again etc.... but for $75 you have everything covered as you are already an SSAA member..

Cheers & I hope you can make it to Batemans Bay for the shoot.
