Provided the spotter doesn't touch the shooter or their equipment or be distracting in any way to those around him/her what does it matter what they say to their shooter.
If the shooter is new to the sport they may need to receive a lot of coaching.
It won't be very encouraging to a newby if they are told they are on their own, figure it out for yourself.
Having spent nearly 20 years shooting silhouette, the spotter is very important but ultimately, the shooter takes the shot.
