It was a shocker. Here's Vince's report - hot off the press:
Brisbane , held the QLD State Madden , 500M Fly Championships on Monday !
The match was a full house , with 29 shooters and 40 positions attending .
Great to see new shooters and those that travelled from interstate compete.
Thank you for all members that attended especially on a Monday !
Thank you to the scoring crew , Barb , target crew , the chefs on the BBQ and everyone that helped make it a sell out shoot and a fun one as well !
The wind did not let up all day which was officially recorded to be approx some 38 km per hr during parts of the match .
We won't mention the mirage that suddenly sprung upon us , half way into the competition ! Hence the total low scores in LG & HG !
Congratulations goes to , MARC THOMPSON on achieving first in total score in LIGHT GUN .
Followed by SHAUN WHEELER , ROB HARWOOD, MARK FAIRBAIN, ROBERT JACKSON, NATHAN JOHNSON, BILL LAW and MARK LACEY .
These shooters made the top eight LIGHT GUN fly shooters in QLD !
Congratulations goes to , VINCE VAINA on achieving first in total score in HEAVY GUN.
Followed by SHAUN WHEELER , ROB HARWOOD, NATHAN JOHNSON, MARC THOMPSON and JOHN VAINA .
These shooters made the top six HEAVY GUN fly shooters in QLD !
Congratulations also goes to , SHAUN WHEELER on achieving first in the COMBINED TWO GUN TOTAL SCORE .
Followed by , MARC THOMPSON, ROB HARWOOD and VINCE VAINA .
These shooters made the top four fly shooters in QLD !
