Little River - Procal Results from this weekend

Hi,

Another great weekend of Fly Shooting..... Typical Little River style.... it was cold and windy and most people got an arse whipping by the range..... all part of the fun !!

Well done to Roy Gow in first place (by one fly) with 211.02, Great result from Pete VM in a well earned second place with 211.01 and Michael Bell in third with 204.03

Heavy Gun was won by Michael Bell with 198.00 and Les Fraser and Russell Lemaitre taking 2nd and third.

Fly hits were few and far between.....there were only 2 shooters that shot 3 flies (Michael Bell & Lee-Anne VM), a couple of 2's and plenty of people that went home without a fly patch....

Small Group was for Light Gun was             Bob Wright with 2.07"
Highest Scoring LG Target for LG was         Michael Bell 56.01

Small Group for Heavy Gun was A Bending (Jacko) 2.92"
Highest Scoring Target for HG was Jason Trotter  51.00

I have attached Full results for the weekend along with Sunday's 300m Results.

Cheers

Thanks for the score sheet Anthony,

Well done to young Roy indeed....and while I'm at it I'll say well done to Don for driving him all that way. I hope you love your grandfather Roy..he deserves it!

Yes Anthony, it is a nice place and it certainly is "very" cold and windy. But hey,..what a challenge!

yeh a great weekend and well done Roy you deserve the win and i agree with Belly that your Grandfather is your biggest supporter and whilst he is able to travel and encourage you take every opportunity to be with him mate and enjoy the experiences.

To  all who shot at Little River i think the sport is growing very well some very positive chats with shooters and what they are doing behind the scenes to keep the sport moving forward. There is always lots of debate and conversation about what is winning what is not and what is the next leg of the fly shooting journey.

I guess for me i am going to try and get to some of the ranges and shoot with the clubs at a club match with no pressure of the competition and try and help others to gain better skills. I honestly believe that there are enough top ranked shooters to give some help to their club mates.

I shared a bench with John Butts and we both learnt a few things from each other at the 300match and that is how it should be helping others to achieve good results.

Congratulations to Nick Aargon (sorry if i spelt your name wrong) but he is really coming along nicely taking a win in the 300m match whilst also doing the targets helpoing out at every opportunity is truely tremendous to see.

I have been very fortunate in the sport of fly shooting and i am only to happy to share my knowledge or experience with a new or regular shooter we all learn something. Learning is not in books it is in the people!!!

shoot well

shooting well is more a mental control of your thoughts than just pulling the trigger........

Thanks Les

Being my first win, even if it was the B comp at 300, it has put a smile on my face all week, and I've looked at my targets a few times just to make sure I did do it! I've been fortunate in having the opportunity to learn from great shooters during my involvement in fly shooting, including sharing the bench with SOTY Belly at the last Wagga meet. Everyone has been very helpful and friendly in assisting me to learn the ropes of the fly shoot.

Congratulations to Roy and all the other trophy winners over the weekend.

Hi Nick,

Well done, and you should be smiling,.... it wasn't a B grade comp,..... you beat a lot of great shooters and shot a score that may even be a 300m record at Little river.... great result and well deserved.

Good to see someone that is passionate about the sport and is getting in there and helping out with the behind the scenes work at the range earning a win.....

Cheers
