New to 500m fly shooting

Jethro
Hi everyone
I'm new to this, about to join at little river.
I have a tikka t3 varmint, a bell&carlson m40
Medalist stock 260 remington.
Can I use this rifle for 500 meter fly matches.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Geoff Perdon.

Hi mate and Welcome
yes mate you can use any gun as long as it doesn't have a muzzle break fitted and is under a 50cal,
I used my old 243 hunting rig when I started at fly but then the bug bites and you start to upgrade stuff on gun/rests etc to make it a better shooter haha,
not sure what your shooting off but you can use bipod or bags as front and rear rests but as you will see when you go down there what some of the set ups people are running
and people are really friendly at the fly so don't be afraid to hit people up with advice on what to do etc as most will help out no worries at all
a good scope is handy min 32 power really helps as you can see where your bullets holes are so you can adjust but isn't needed when starting out (I started with a 6.5x25 vx3 and used that till I started to get right into fly shooting)

its a great sport and addictive and im sure the guys and girls there will help you out

cheers
Pethy

Hello Les
A Quick question if I may, what weight projectiles are other people using for 500m fly shooting in the 260 remington.
