Wagga Results from this weekend

Hi All,

Another successful Fly Shoot at Wagga is done and dusted.  Numbers were down, probably due to it being the weekend directly after Easter and just before school holidays....
It was a great weekend with the Wagga crew doing an amazing job of getting us all finished and out of there just after lunch on Sunday !!

Well done to Paul Deehan for a smashing win in heavy gun, with Tyson Trotter and Paul Krebs 2nd and third, best target and small group both went to Tim Pavey.

The consistent Michael Bell won Light gun, with Robert Valeri and Deane Thrower taking 2nd and third. Tim Pavey took small group and Anthony Hall won best target.

300m in Custom class was won by Peter van Meurs, with Deane Thrower 2nd (by fly count) and Paul Deehan taking third. Best target was PvM and small group went to Deane Thrower.

300m "Factory" class was won by PvM, 2nd went to Robert Valeri and Tim Pavey took third place.  Best target and small group both went to Robert Valeri.

Paul Deehan cleaned up the two gun for both days taking the 100 Lapua Cases, and Rob O'Halloran won the lucky door prize of the Barrel.

Well done to the Wagga Club for another great event.

Cheers

Anthony

Must say I think it was fantastic to have the 500m event on the Saturday and the easier/more casual 300 event on Sunday !!

Meant we were out of there around 1.30 pm on Sunday after the presentation.....home before dark !!

And not driving home as exhausted as I usually am after the 500m event....

A great change I would say.

Cheers,

Anthony

Hi,

Awesome weekend of shooting and being my first time at Wagga I was really impressed with the facilities and the quality of work the club did to save their range. Thanks to Chappo and the crew for a great event.

Congratulations to Paul D for his win at 500m, he really stomped the rest of us and to finish 23 points clear of 2nd shows just how on his game he was. Also to PVM for his wins at 300m, this is the first time I have competed and it was a blast. 300 is super competitive and everyone seemed to having fun, and as always plenty of shit stirring and laughing.

Thanks to everyone for making the weekend a blast and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Cheers

Hi Anthony,

Just looking over the results of the 300m factory class. I was given best target with a 59.02, the results show my best target is 56.01 equal best with PVM.
I haven't had a chance to check my targets yet but if i get time tomorrow i will double check them..
We might have to head back to Wagga for a shoot off... (any excuse to pull the trigger)
Anyway I will check the targets just though I'd let you know there may have been a mistake.

cheers

HI Mate,

Just looking back at the original presentation results….56.01 is correct the 59.02 is just a typo…. The scorers deliberately selected yours as best target.

You must have been determined “best” by the method of most tens… most 9’s etc for example yours might have been 3 tens and 2 9’s with an 8 group for 56.01 (or 4 tens and an 8 with an 8 for group)…Petes might have been 2 tens and 3 nines with a 9 for group etc….

Cheers

Yes Mate I have 56.01 as the official score. There was indeed a tie break between Rob V and PVM to sort out highest target.
